Foundation for Behavior Change
Advancing Equity, Access, and Inclusion in Behavior Change
The Foundation for Behavior Change helps expand who has access to behavior change education, research, professional opportunity, and community-centered support.
As a 501(c)(3) public benefit organization, the Foundation invests in equity-driven initiatives that strengthen the field, support emerging and advancing professionals, and expand access to behavior change resources for communities facing inequitable access to care and support.

The Foundation’s Role
The Foundation for Behavior Change supports the public benefit side of the behavior change ecosystem. Its role is to expand opportunity, reduce barriers, and help ensure that the growth of behavior change work is not only rigorous and professionalized, but also equitable, inclusive, accessible, and grounded in community need.
The Foundation works alongside the Institute for Behavior Change and the Academy for Behavior Change as part of a connected ecosystem. The Institute advances standards, credentialing, research, and clinical integration. The Academy supports professional learning, specialization, continuing education, and interdisciplinary community. The Foundation advances equity and access through scholarships and grants, research support, policy and systems efforts, and community-centered initiatives.
Together, these organizations are building pathways for a field that is ethical, evidence-informed, representative, and responsive to the people and communities it is meant to serve.

What We’re Building
The Foundation’s work is organized around four connected areas that advance equity, access, inclusion, and community impact in behavior change.
Scholarships and Grants
Expanding opportunity for emerging and advancing behavior change professionals from underrepresented, marginalized, and vulnerable communities through scholarships, micro-grants, and future funding pathways.

Research and Field Learning
Supporting equity-focused research, evidence development, and shared learning through the Research Network and related efforts to better understand access, implementation, and impact in behavior change.

Equity, Access, and Policy
Strengthening partnerships, frameworks, and advocacy efforts that reduce barriers, increase representation, and advance equity across behavior change education, credentialing, and practice.

Community Engagement
Building community-centered partnerships, listening pathways, storytelling, and future initiatives that apply behavior change science in ways that are responsive to real-world needs.
