Advancing quality, accountability, and trust in coach education

Program Accreditation for CHWC

Accreditation recognizes programs that meet rigorous, profession-aligned standards for preparing Clinical Health & Well-Being Coaches (CHWC). It signals that a program is grounded in evidence, ethics, and educational integrity—ready to support the evolving needs of healthcare and community settings.

What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is a formal review of educational quality.

It affirms that training programs:

  • Align with established competencies

  • Use sound curriculum design and assessment practices to evaluate both learner performance and program effectiveness

  • Prepare graduates for real-world complexity

  • Demonstrate a commitment to systematic quality review, continuous improvement, and accountability
Accreditation is not about uniformity. It is about shared standards that protect quality, build trust, and strengthen the profession.
Credibility

Why do programs seek accreditation?

Programs pursue accreditation to:

  • Demonstrate credibility and educational rigor

  • Differentiate themselves in a growing training landscape

  • Align with emerging certification and workforce pathways

  • Signal readiness for integration into healthcare and allied settings
Accreditation is both a mark of quality and a commitment to the future of the profession.

Who should seek accreditation?

Program accreditation is intended for education and training programs that prepare individuals to work as Clinical Health & Well-Being Coaches. Accreditation is appropriate for programs that:

  • Prepare learners for roles in healthcare, public health, or community-based care settings
  • Teach coaching competencies aligned with clinical, ethical, and relational standards
  • Are committed to instructional quality, equity, and continuous improvement
  • Seek external validation of educational rigor and readiness

What types of programs are eligible for accreditation?

Accreditation is open to a range of program models, including:

  • Academic and university-based programs
  • Healthcare-embedded or clinically affiliated training programs
  • Private or professional training organizations
Programs may be emerging or well-established. What matters is not size or format, but intentional design, documented quality, and alignment with professional expectations.
